Angus Cameron
Painter
Glasgow
Studied at Gray's School of Art Aberdeen, from 2005 - 2009, specialising in Painting.
Currently living and working in Glasgow, involved in solo and group projects.
My work can be characterised by my use of series pieces as a means to depict certain ideas, usually as installations. It can also be highlighted that I use no regular reoccurring theme or
subject matter in each project I work on. I work in many mediums, but mainly painting, print making and drawing.
I like to explore ideas through various forms of expression, working from first or second hand information; Still Life, portraits, mass media imagery or personal photographs.
I draw inspiration from a mixed bag of art influences; Dutch Masters, Pop art Kitsch to Photo Realism. I'm interested in the banal, the odd things in our daily lives to powerful, catastrophic events. This mainly boils down to my interest in how we interact with the world that we inhabit. I tend to approach each project idea broadly and like to leave the subject matter and end product open for interpretation.
