Sandra Bouguerch

Interdisciplinary Artist
Bolton

Sandra Bouguerch is an interdisciplinary artist who creates artworks and atmospheres revolving around the ‘exploration of self’. Her practice focuses on what it means to be human utilising various media necessary to express her intentions.

Since graduating in 2012 Sandra has exhibited in group exhibitions within the UK and is a neo-artist studio member based in Bolton. She has shown internationally, worked collaboratively, curated and held her first solo show in 2014.

"An interdiciplinary artist focusing on 'Temporal Experiences of Awareness and Tension in Relation to the Notion of Self" - This exploration was triggered during my own transformation and development of self whilst life modeling. Through this role I became self-aware of surroundings, others, my body and myself.

I am interested in creating work that implies uncertainty, tension and vulnerability, aiming to suggest the commonalities, both physical and psychological, that inform the human condition. I hope to achieve a future body of work that through intervention captures an essence of the performance and challenges ideas of what initially took place.
