Sarah Sanders

Sarah Sanders is a fine artist based in Manchester. Her work is based in drawing involving works on paper, performance and installation. She has exhibited in the UK, Europe and China where she was Artist in Residence at 501 Contemporary Artspace, Chongqing in 2009. 

Her work has featured in the opening of the Text Festival 2011, Bury Art Gallery, curated by Tony Trehy, Studio Chongqing Symposium, Chinese Arts Centre, curated by Nina Chua and Jessica Longmore, publications (Aug2010 & Oct2010) 'Pantheon', created by Beth Ward and Ekleksographia 2010, guest edited by Philip Davenport. 

She is as a freelance artist at Whitworth Art Gallery. She has delivered workshops for families and home education groups, primary and secondary schools with projects based on exhibitions, works on display and her practice. she also works with adults delivering life drawing classes offering direction and projects looking at exhibitions and works on display such as Mary Kelly, Corpus. She also delivers life drawing workshops at Sandbar involving some performances exploring the deconstruction of drawing. In April 2011, she created ‘Returning to Drawing’ a school of thought and practice held at BLANKSPACE exploring drawing techniques, the learning environment, process and conceptual art. 

She aims to continue developing her practice as an artist and tutor.
